Moffat Gardens is a 6-story residential development that includes four floors of senior housing with 46 units, two floors of assisted living with 26 units, ground floor indoor and outdoor community spaces, and parking area... The project was sponsored by the Ridgewood Bushwick Senior Citizens Council and funded by HUD and the NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD). The ground floor lobby and common spaces orient to landscaped courtyards. At upper floors, oversized windows provide an enhanced sense of space for both common areas and apartment interiors. The design incorporates energy conservation features from the HPD Energy Star NYSERD program. Components include enhanced insulation of the building envelope, energy efficient boilers and electrical motors, and high efficiency lighting systems.
